I had to share this epic wedding with you today! Meet Marisa and Steven, an amazing couple from New England who came all the way to California's Sequoia National Park to get married in front of a giant Sequoia tree among Crescent Meadow.
From the moment I met Marisa and Steven via our online video chat I knew I wanted to work with them on their Sequoia Wedding. They were just the kind of couple I like to work with, fun, down to earth and a little corky. Those are my people! Through our chat, I learned that Steven is a Nurse, and Marisa a flight attendant working on getting her pilot license. Together they get to travel the world and go on new adventures anytime they want. I was pretty jealous but extremely excited that I would be the one to capture their special day.
I was fortunate that Marisa and Steven were able to catch a last-minute flight to the Central Valley about a month before the wedding to meet up before heading to the Sequoias in search for the perfect ceremony location. The Sequoia they chose to marry under was perfect!
I have had many portrait sessions in the Sequoias, but a wedding is a whole different experience. As a wedding photographer there are plenty of times I get to be in charge, but most of my day is spent capturing moments as they unfold, so you better be ready! You're constantly attentive to your surroundings, but at the same time it's difficult not to get caught in those moments when you see two beautiful souls standing in front of a magnificent tree committing their love and affection to each other till death do they part. There's just no experience like it and I will forever be nostalgic of these images whenever I look at them.
